My son just turned four and we decided to host a golf themed birthday party for him and his friends. It was such a fun way to celebrate his birthday and we planned games, food and favors around the golf theme.
This was one of the first parties my son had school friends to invite, so I wanted to make it super fun! I like to make sure the games, favors and food all tie into the theme, I think that way it all doubles as decor!

Golf Themed Food
This was a late afternoon/early evening party so we wanted to have an easy dinner option. We served sandwiches, fruit, veggie and hummus cups along with a variety of chips/snacks. I found these cute golf themed paper basket bags on Etsy, they'd be really cute for favors too if you have something smaller! We added a plastic cup with veggies, celery and carrots and a little cup of hummus to each bag.
One tip for the sandwiches- since it was going to be a bit warmer out we served them on my cookie trays. We put a layer of ice under them with the plastic lids under that. That way it was almost as if they had a cooling tray under them. That way I wasn't worried about them sitting out for the duration of the party!
For drinks we had juice boxes, water, sports drinks and lemonade in a tube with ice. That made it easy for parents and kiddos to grab whatever they needed. I will say the lemonade was the most popular, followed by the body armor drinks!
We used these food tent cards that matched the invites and welcome sign, there are a lot of great pun opportunities with a golf themed party!
Cake and Desserts
For the party cake I used a local bakery, Dolce Bakery. It was delicious! I added the candle topper and toy golf cart for extra accent pieces. This cake was actually one of their menu item cakes they make for the Masters, but it was perfect for our party! This is my cake stand, I like how simple it is. Our party was larger but I got a smaller cake knowing we'd have other dessert options too. My best tip for food and dessert at a birthday party? Make sure it's all food you like so that if/when you have leftovers you enjoy them!
For the other desserts I got the bundtinnis from Nothing Bundt Cakes. I love these little cakes! I don't make cookies as often as I used to but my son requested them so I made golf sugar cookies. Here is my go to recipe for the sugar cookies and my icing recipe!
The golf club plates and green striped napkins are new from Bonjour Fete, I love how they came out with golf themed plates! I used this modern disposible silverware and my go to Target 50 cent plates as chargers. The table runner is from Ellie and Piper. The golf cups were part of the kiddo favors, I love these kiddo cups they are so fun!
Golf Party Decorations and Games
For this party I knew the decorations were going to need to be active. This was a party for a four year old boy and his friends! I was so excited when I found these inflatable golf clubs. I grabbed a few white beach balls too and made this 'driving range' where they could wack the balls around the yard. Here's a link to the signage!
The mini golf putt putt was a DIY, along with the balloon marquee windmill. I love using foam board for party backdrops because it's affordable and easy to work with. I've used it to make a balloon barn and 'adopt a stuffed animal' arch for other parties too! I think a lot of the dads had fun with this along with the kiddos, it was a fun addition to the party for sure and worked as a backdrop for photos.
Part of our yard was in full sun at the start of the party, so I'm really glad we invested in this pop up tent. We'll use it year after year and it was a great place to put all the food and desserts. I made the balloon arch, the colors are from Bashify! I liked it because I could pick the colors and make it unique.

Favors
For favors, I used this arch from Hobby Lobby that I had seen go viral! It was a bit of a windy day so I did secure it to our fence with zip ties. But it's great because it folds up for storage.
To customize it for our party, we painted it white. Then I used a similar approach to making the putting green by stapling part of a green rug I found on clearance to one of the panels and adhered wooden letters I had also spray painted. Then I added the shelves to hold the cups!
The main favor was a bag of plastic golf clubs and balls, I was so excited when I found these at Dollar Tree! They were the perfect favor and at $1.25 each they were super affordable too. If you want to buy online you will need to buy in bulk. My mom helped me add the favor tags, we cut out the printable from Etsy and glued it to cardstock. Paired with the golf ball cups we sent home a bunch of happy golf pros!
This was a super fun and special celebration for our son, I hope it helps you plan your own golf-themed birthday party!

I was wondering where you got your "4" candle or how you made it.
Thanks in advance

Hi! It's from Etsy. It looks like it's sold out (here's the original link: https://rstyle.me/+Ab-XJGSKJ_EVu_x7SmFFpw) but here's a similar option: https://rstyle.me/+vq5PFCWxL72zOJSzF0Thkw
