A flower bouquet bar is the perfect favor station or shower activity. It's great for bridal showers and baby showers. I made this backdrop stand for a fall-themed shower, we also had a flower bouquet bar on a table at our Bonjour Bebe shower. Not only do the flowers make a perfect take-home gift, but they add a lot to the event from a decor perspective.
When planning your bouquet bar you can make it super simple and have pre-assembled bouquets or you can have it more involved. It can even be a game where the guest of honor picks a winner for the most complex or creative bouquet! All you need is a bit of planning and some basic supplies to make a gasp-worthy flower station.
Picking your Florals
When you're picking your flowers it's helpful to pick a few larger flowers and mix with greenery and smaller buds. This will help your budget too! I like to use hydrangeas because they really stretch and are a full flower. I've made a flower bar with stems from Trader Joe's in a variety of colors and sizes. Then I recommend adding some greenery to help use as filler.
Helpful Supplies and Tips
- Signage- I made this using a blank acrylic sheet and my Cricut
- Flower paper and/or kraft paper (I used a kraft paper runner cut into strips)
- twine or ribbon
- buckets- I used these from IKEA
- crates- I found these wooden ones on my local buy nothing group page!
Setting Up Your Bouquet Bar
Once you have all your flowers, group them by either stem type or color to make it easy for people to pick them out. Have a designated spot for them to put all their flowers together and wrap them. Laying everything out makes it really easy for people to come and go and work on it, but I would recommend having a person or two stationed there to help. Putting out a sample bouquet will go a long ways in guiding people around how many to take and how to structure their bouquet.
Wrapping the Bouquet
When you're wrapping up the flowers I got flower paper and used kraft paper sheets tied with twine to make a pretty bouquet. First, lay your flowers with the tops peaking out at an angle. Then fold a triangle up.
Fold one of the sides completely over the flowers, and then fold the other end around it, looping in back. Tie and secure with twine.
That's all there is to it! Send your guests home with a bouquet as the perfect reminder of a sweet shower. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments!
