We just celebrated my son turning 'FORE' with a golf birthday party. So to finish off the party we had a 'pro shop' with golf themed party favors. The favors doubled as a decoration too which helped to tie everything together and had a nice impact.
This display was something I dreamt up after thinking about how I like having a display for favors or gifts. In the past I've used foam board to make a sign, but when I found the viral backdrop sign at Hobby Lobby I knew I could customize it for our party.
Making Golf Club Favors
For our party favors I wanted to send each kiddo home with a fun activity and cup. I searched all over for kid plastic golf clubs and finally found these sets from Dollar Tree! They're perfect because they come with two clubs, balls, a hole and a flag. The flags have been some of the kid's favorites! I also picked these cups that come in a fun golf ball shape. I love the 3D cups- we used trophy's at my son's third birthday party too!
Once I had enough of the favors- you can go store to store or buy in bulk on their website, I added a custom thank you/favor card. These designs matched our invites and other signage.
They were printed them on normal computer paper, so we cut out a backing from cardstock and glued them down. Then, we used a hole punch and strung a few strands of ribbon through them and tied to the golf club set. With that detail added they were ready to go! We sent one of these home with each kid along with their golf ball cup.
Making a Favor Stand
I wanted to have the favors on a fun display so I created a 'pro shop' from this wedding stand arch. My dad helped paint it, we used two coats and you could still see some of the wood grain, just something to keep in mind if you're planning to paint it.
Next, I cut a strip of a green outdoor rug and used my staple gun to attach it to the backdrop. I opted to staple it together instead of using wood glue so that I could take the 'grass' look off and use the backdrop for other party themes.
To customize it for my son, I used 4-inch wood letters and made the 'Miles' Pro Shop' wording. I hot glued these wood letters to the green rug. I did spray paint the wood letters before glueing them down. These would be so easy to customize for your kiddo and party!
The last part of customizing the backdrop was adding these shelves. I bought a 2 pack and they came with command strips. These were just the right size for the golf ball cups to sit on!
