I got married almost one year ago (it is so crazy how time flies!) and had the best experience planning my wedding! I ask my husband, Ben, if we can get married again all the time! Let's just say he wasn't as hyped about wedding planning as I was. haha. My vision for our wedding was a blush pink wedding theme but with as many personal touches as I could add! I am going to share all the fun details with you today, from the blush wedding decor to my shades of pink bouquet! I truly believe that personalizing one's wedding day adds such a unique twist to a wedding and I hope that these ideas inspire any future brides who may read this!
Blush Pink Wedding Decor
When I designed our signs I wanted to put our spin on the wording but still have them deliver the important details. Our wedding signs and table numbers were all different shades of pink!
We got these custom acrylic signs from Modlode and I am so happy with the results!
The biggest statement piece for our wedding was my DIY Wedding Arch backdrop panels that we used as a seating chart wall. To keep it in line with the blush wedding wedding decor, we personalized it by making our escort cards Pomeranian shaped, in honor of our baby girl, Penelope.
My sister-in-law helped me with all of the escort cards on the seating chart wall. After we painted the wooden Pomeranian shapes, she wrote out all of the names and table numbers. I would not have been able to do this without her! I love that this project involved so many family members chipping in and making it special! My family is the best!
For one more unique touch, I created personalized cocktail napkins and bathroom hand towels. This may seem like an unnecessary step, but it wasn't that expensive- and the bathroom hand towels definitely became a conversation starter!
Blush Wedding Tabletop
I am so in love with how our tabletop turned out! We rented these gorgeous tables and chairs from Cedar & Pine. The plates, gold flatware, and blush glasses were all from Bright rentals.
The napkins were made out of cheesecloth! They came in long strips so I dyed them and then cut them into napkins. I loved the gauzy texture and feel of these napkins, and how beautifully they photographed!
The candles are from Yummi Candles in shades Light Rose and Sandstone. They were set in alternating colors down the tables. The Sandstone candles were 15 inches tall and the Light Rose were 12 inches. At first I was not too keen on having the hurricanes over the candles, but in hindsight I am so happy we had them because they kept our candles lit all night!
Bridesmaid dresses
The last project that I took on for our wedding was hand dyeing all of my bridesmaid dresses! I chose a different style full length white dress for each bridesmaid and then dyed them blush pink using avocado skins!
You can see my full process for the dresses on my avocado dye post. These dresses fit our blush wedding theme perfectly and I am so happy with how they turned out!
Pink Bouquet
The flowers at our wedding were such a focal point, and I wanted shades of pink and neutrals throughout the venue. Brooke, from Wildflower San Diego, did the most amazing job curating the perfect florals for our wedding day! My pink bouquet was the perfect mesh of blush, peach and neutrals like whites and beiges! Each bridesmaid held a smaller pink bouquet as well. I wanted an organic feel in the flowers, and this came through perfectly in our table arrangements and the floral backdrop that we stood in front of for the ceremony!
The floral backdrop, pictured below, was moved to our lounge area after the ceremony. I am so glad that I requested that because it was so beautiful and such a focal point in the lounge area! Plus, it would have been such a waste to only enjoy those gorgeous blooms for the ceremony and not for the rest of the evening!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my blush pink wedding theme! This day was such a dream and I could live it over and over and over again! Please let me know if you have any questions about our day in the comments below! I am so happy to share all the tips and tricks I learned along the way!
Lastly, I want to give a huge shoutout to our wedding planner, Kristi, with Everlasting Events! She was a lifesaver and made our day so magical! Danielle, from Danielle Bacon Photography, captured our day in the most perfect way and we are in love with our photos! All of our vendors were absolutely incredible, and we had the best wedding day ever! And last but not least, to the best dad in the world, for officiating our ceremony. We love you so much.
XOXO,
Melanie
