I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner! We're looking forward to hosting our families this year, and so I want our home to smell amazing on Christmas day. This easy Christmas simmer pot is exactly what will add that cozy feeling to our space! It even looks so festive with the pops of green and red! I plan to make this throughout the next few weeks instead of using scented candles this year. See below for my recipe.
Why Simmer Pots?
These are a great option to reduce candle use and other fragrances that may have manufactured or toxic ingredients. Simmer pots only use water and food ingredients, so they are perfectly safe for everyone to enjoy. The water in the pot is heated until boiling and then "simmered" over several hours, breaking down the fruits and spices inside. This Christmas simmer pot recipe will add a warm festive scent to any holiday activities.

Ingredients
- Cranberries
- Fresh Pine Branches
- Lemon
- Orange
- Cloves
- Water
- Simmer pot (This is the one I use and love- but any regular pot will do!)
Making the Simmer Pot
Slice the Lemon and Orange into approximately ¼ inch slices. Add all ingredients to the pot and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, reduce to simmer/low setting on the stove top and leave. Occasionally check on the water levels and top up the water if the levels get too low. Enjoy!!
Please note: The pine in this recipe will not give off too much of a scent. It is more for decorative purposes and as a bonus it looks really cute in this Christmas simmer pot!
