What is a Simmer Pot?
Simmer pots have gotten more popular recently, as families are looking for nontoxic options to scented candles and fragrances. This winter simmer pot uses only fruits and spices, so it is perfectly safe for the home. As the water boils, the fruits and spices break down and release their yummy scent through the steam.. so good! This cranberry simmer pot reminds me of mulled wine. Delish.
Making The Simmer Pot
I purchased this little glass pot and it just makes everything cuter! Any pot will work just fine though. Add all ingredients into the pot, cover in water and bring to a boil. Once the water is boiling, turn stovetop burner to simmer/low setting. Keep an eye on the water levels over the next few hours and top up with water as needed. Once finished, let the pot cool and discard ingredients.
That's basically all there is to it! I hope you enjoyed this winter simmer pot recipe! Let me know if you make it in the comments below.
