Customizing gift wrapping is a fun way to make a gift extra special. It can be simple too! These DIY Gingerbread House gift bags are easy to make and only take about 15 minutes. It's a nice touch to make a gift feel more custom. I added gift cards and candy to these bags for teacher gifts this year along with an ornament of one of their favorite things.
Brown kraft paper is a classic Christmas wrapping material that feels nostalgic. Adding some white paint and red velvet ribbon makes it even more festive, friends and family will love getting these! Turn on some Christmas music or a classic movie, start a stove simmer and get to crafting!

Directions
- Cut the corners of the kraft paper gift bag, this makes the roof like for the gingerbread house bag.
- Using a white paint pen, decorate the bag with wiggles, dots, doors and windows. Anything you want to use to decorate or make it look like a gingerbread house. I like to add the recipient's name.
- Add a gift and tie a ribbon to close the bag.
Tips
- Shake up the paint pen really well. It takes a bit to get going!
- Sometimes the paint pen isn't super strong, either draw over the line again or shake it up again.
- When cutting the bag, be careful not to cut too close to the handle so you don't cut it off accidentally!
